At least credit me??

Ohkay so something happened to me that i never ever thought would happen to me. Does that look familiar? Yes. That's the lettering i did that i was flipping tables about cos it got featured in the surelysimple spotlight.

So i got the notification that someone followed me on my lettering acc. And i went to check her out cos since im just a budding acc, i try my best to follow back every lettering acc that follows me. And she isnt one. Or maybe she's just starting out idk. I saw that she had one lettering photo and decided to click on it to see how she is.

To my shock, it was a replica of what i had once lettered. That design is one of my favourite so far so i'd recognise it anywhere. She even copied the thickness of the stroke that my brush pen made. What she didnt copy was my personal font that i used for the capital letters though.

And now im just wondering if i should call her out for it??? It's not that i want attention or anything but hello this is MY creative idea I THOUGHT this up (granted in the middle of math prelim but shhhhhh). You changing the direction of one of the arrows, drawing smileys in the O's and not copying my capital letter font doesnt make this design yours. And guess what? Totally 0 credit at all. Zilch. Her caption even wrote "first time i tried this" << paraphrased cos her grammar was off but that's not the point. She made it sound like SHE did it. Like SHE DESIGNED it. And idk it just rly irks me???? It's not that im being selfish and dont share or anything. If you want to copy my stuff or get inspiration from it, sure!!! Im honoured. But please dont copy wholesale and then totally not credit me at all? After all i AM the person to have designed it in the first place right?

This girl still had the nerve to follow me. As if blatantly telling me that she had copied off me.

I always see this one art acc that i follow griping abt ppl "referencing" her work. And i used to wonder why she got so riled up over it. It's only now that i understand how she feels: even though we arent doing this for recognition, it still sucks when someone practically steals your design to claim it as theirs and get compliments when they themselves didnt do nothing.

As of now im just gonna sleep on it. Although im really leaning towards calling her out - teach her that this is not acceptable and to make sure she doesnt copy others.

Man, never thought my work was good enough to be copied hahahaaha

Is it because im a small acc and you think no one will notice?
