Calligraphy in English!
hey! ohkay i'm so sorry for not blogging in such a long time!! ): i've been busy, and idk if i've said it before, but i've been over at my neighbour's house a lot so i can't use the computer as frequently as i used to...
so on monday (wow this is so long ago i cry) my school had this arts fiesta thing. and then they had this new english calligraphy thing it was so cool ohkay! omg. like have you seen those where people could write our names in english is a way such that it looks very chinese??? that's what i'm talking about! that's what i learnt it was so cool omg!
and it's been such a long time since i've held a calligraphy brush, let alone write calligraphy you have no idea how excited i was xD
so i made a friend there cos no one wanted to go w me... her name is chloe. but anyways, we were given this chart for all the letters of our names and it was really really cool and i practiced on like two pieces of drawing block hehehe. cos i seriously wanted to get it really good before i wrote it on rice paper.
well obviously i didn't practice enough. i know, they're not all square.... ):
one of the people there helping out saw and she was like "WAH SO NICE!!!" haha xD they were saying that i wrote better than them but pls definitely not la haha. they write until like so nice and so well practice. i haven't written in YEARS.
when i told them that i learnt before, they were like "oh ya, can see. you got some of the skills" haha thanks xD
actually, all this is thanks to my grandfather ♡ i really missed him a lot while doing this... it reminded me of when i was young, when he would teach me how to write calligraphy. i was really really young then but i still rmb it. i rmb how i would often play around instead of writing properly. but now that i'm older, i realised that me learning calligraphy from my grandfather really paid off cos i can write quite ohkay calligraphy now... hehe
now if only my grandfather could actually see it...
i really want him to see it... i want to know which parts i have to improve in. i want to know which parts are really bad and which parts are really good. most importantly, i wanna make him guess what i'm writing since most people assume it's in chinese at first...
i really want that.
but i guess i can't have that
i think like.. every technique i have in calligraphy is all from my grandfather. true, i've learnt calligraphy when i was in p2, but i think i kindda forgot everything alr??? otl. i rmb like the last time i wrote calligraphy (which was in pri sch) i wrote the "春" word and showed my grandfather and he gave me tips on how to improve it! like idrk how to explain it in words, but basically, when you start off a line, you should press down a bit first then when you end a line should also press down a little bit i think it will look nicer that way???
the friend that i was with, her surname was ng. so for fun, i decided to write it too. and i really really really love how it came out omg! it's like my specialty is writing the letter G xD
nice right??? haha xD i like the one on the right more :3
sorry about how messy and fuzzy it looks.. the brush i used wasn't... very good otl. it was really frayed and everything i couldn't get my words right. maybe i'm a poor workman blaming my tools, BUT I'M SERIOUS. even my friend was complaining about it being fuzzy and i know for a fact that she doesn't learn calligraphy.
oh yeah, and one of the person helping out there, who's also a friend of the friend that i made there, said that i really should stay back and help out with others who were gonna learn HAHA. not that good la.... xP
anyways, so i met up w eyjj after that and we went home tgt~ we were supposed to meet up w pea too, but then she told us that she wouldn't be meeting up w us because why? she was gg w another friend to their primary school. FINE, BE THAT WAY XD then i think we apparently took the same train tgt but we only saw them in tamp and so yeah! haha xD it was funny xD and her friend was just like "who's that?" and obv she told her la haha xD
had to go for ballet, and i think popo thought that i was gonna eat there so she told the maid to cook my share when i had to go for ballet and bought dinner for my bro and i >< i'm so sorryy!!!! )))):
speaking of ballet, i have an exam in a week. A WEEK. KILL ME NOW. and we haven't even gotten our leotards what the hell is this sia.
even miss wah is confused sighpie.
i hope we get our leotards soon!!! ):
